urban sassafras welcomes pre-school age kiddos (2 - 5) and their grown-ups for a morning of learning, art projects, bonding, snacks and fun!  each class includes:

• a lesson or story for the artfully young
• art projects that kiddos and grown-ups can create together then take home
• a delicious treat and drink (coffee for adults, juice for kiddos)
• all supplies needed for each project are provided

each class lasts about one hour (or so) and is held before the urban sassafras shop opens.  your instructor will be the energetic and childish cassandra pence ostermeier.

• let it snow! - saturday, january 16 @ 9am
  let's celebrate winter this month with a few creative snow crafts! we'll begin with watercolor paints to make cheerful mitten decorations, then we'll work on our hand/eye coordination by beading some snowflakes. lastly, let's practice with our scissors as we create a beautiful paper snow scene. we'll break for a yummy snack from sugar jar bakery & milk or juice to drink.
• happy hearts - saturday, february 13 @ 9am
  valentines day is a time to share our love with family & friends! this month, we'll study the shape of hearts and learn to make woodland animal art by gluing our paper hearts together. next, we'll get messy with paints to reveal a message of love. we'll break for a heart-warming snack & drink, then finish our class by making a necklace for mom, grandma or sister!
• space school - saturday, march 19 @ 9am
  it's time to get excited about the 'out of this world' crafts this month! we'll begin by learning a marbling paint technique to create our planets, then it's time to get silly and create our moon out of buttons! sugar jar bakery will make us a few space snacks that we can enjoy with milk or juice at break time. lastly, we'll combine a few ingredients to make a calming, galaxy jar.
